FMUK took over the broadcasting schedule this weekend as shows from Thames, Talkback and Boundless secured great ratings across ITV & BBC. Britain’s Got Talent, The Keith & Paddy Picture Show and Take Me Out are ITV’s top 3 highest rated shows from Saturday night.
Saturday 18:45 – Take Me Out (Thames) It all kicked off with Take Me Out. The popular FM dating format, now in its ninth UK series, secured 3.2m overnight viewers. It also became one of the highest trending items in the UK on Twitter. One of the contestants from Saturday night’s episode even earned his own Twitter moment!
Saturday 20:00 – Britain’s Got Talent (Thames) Up next was the UK’s favourite talent show, as Britain’s Got Talent took centre stage. Britain’s Got Talent has already impressed audiences this series with some fantastic ratings but Saturday night’s episode broke its own record by becoming the UK’s #1 programme of 2017 to date, with an amazing 9.4m overnight viewers.
Saturday 21:15 – The Keith & Paddy Picture Show (Talkback) In the first of a five part series, comedy duo Keith Lemon and Paddy McGuinness recreate some of the most iconic films. 4.9m overnight viewers tuned in to watch the pair recreate Dirty Dancing in their own unique way. The highest rated entertainment launch on ITV since 2013. Twitter was impressed too – the new show scored a 99.9% positive sentiment on the social platform.
Sunday 19:00 – Dara & Ed’s Road to Mandalay (Boundless) Dara and Ed’s Road to Mandalay is a three-part travelogue series for BBC2. Dara O’ Briain and Ed Byrne travel through Malaysia, Thailand and up into Myanmar where their epic journey will end in Mandalay. Along the way they will discover some of the unique culture, history and day-to-day life of these beautiful countries. 1.6m viewers tuned in on BBC2, making it the channel’s #1 show of the weekend.
Sunday 21:00 – Take Me Out: The Gossip (Thames) The companion show to Take Me Out scored its highest overnight rating series-to-date on ITV2, with 451k viewers. It was #1 in the multichannel time slot among total viewers and Adults 16-34.
